World Independent Record Label Association

I was just wondering if anyone here has had any experience in paying artists to release their music. I've never done it before so I'm interested in hearing about the process, royalties, etc.

Do you want to buy the tracks/songs??
or you wanna sign the artist to your label?
or you just want to randomly release some tracks??

I guess just one-off signing of tracks to release. How much should an unknown artist receive for a track? one-time payment? royalties?

depends on you. what is it worth to you???
a lot of guys come with tracks to smaller labels just to get a release under their belt to then take the good stuff to a big label.
what's it worth to you?
is it worth the push?
or is it better to get more established artists and pay a bit more?
some guys have a fanbase, they are cool with royalties.
others want more loot for licensing. You may or may not sell any...
not wanting to sound too negative, but - been there done that-
hmmmm, what to do??
pay more to a "bigger" guy and less promotional effort
pay less or nothing to a newbie who wants a release and fork out a mint to promote the guy..
guys with a track record do benefit you more. a cool newbie should consider getting his name out there to build a career. So it can be anything from zero to whatever you guys agree on.
So again, what is it worth to you?
Does it fit your style?
Will your fans appreciate it?
Can you sell it?

ARMADA can pretty much sell anything but can we??
